58-59. Officer Cadet at Royal Military College Port Dickson, Malaysia. Commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant Dec 59. 60-63. 2 Engineer Squandron Tapah. Additional courses in tactics, weapons, Workshop Practice and Military Engineering (College of Military Engineering India). Lieutenant. Participated in the Lasah Road Project in Perak under 2 Troop commanders incl then Capt Ray Chen 64-65. In charge of the Bau - Strass and Padawan Border Road Projects in Sarawak under then Major Mitcheley and Major Selverajah 2 Engr Sqn. 66-67. All Arms Tactics and Staff Duties Courses. Captain 68-69. As a Major, Senior Instructor at the Royal Military College for Tactics, Mapping and Military History. OC Cadet Alam Shah Company. Spent May 13 in the College. 69-70. Attended School of Military Survey UK at Newbury England. Awarded military symbol "svy" 70. Short tenue as OC 5 Engineer Squadron. Move the Sqn from Taiping to Malacca. 71-74. Assistant Director of National Mapping. Lieutenant Colonel. Awarded PJK from Kedah. Participated in the determination and marking of the Thai - Malaysian Border. Member of the Malaysian Delegation to the UN Seminar on Mapping and Cartography. 2 weeks in Tokyo at Hotel Otani. Develope the early warning device Merbok for troops in the jungle in 1974. 75. Attended Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College KL. Awarded military symbol "psc" 76 - 78. Commander Regiment of Engineers 2 Div Sungei Besi. Awarded "KMN" from the Federal Government. Writing Team for the first Malaysian Thai Combined Exercise Sawadee in Southern Thailand 1977. Under Maj Gen Jamil. 79-81. Commandant School of Military Engineering, Kluang. Visited UK with Major Elias for 2 weeks again as guest of the British Army to visit Training Establishments including School of Miltary Engineering Chatham. 82. Attended Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College. Awarded military symbol "jssc" or "mpat" 83. Commander Engineers Line of Communications. 84-85. Deputy commander of 6th Malaysian Infantry Brigade, Sungei Petani. Colonel. Awarded Panglima Tamin Sari "PTS" from Perak. Working with Gen Zainal Abidin. Leader of the writing team for Exercise Taiaha Tombak - NZ Mal Combined Ex. Produced Merbok 2. 86-89. Head of Training and Chief Engineer HQ 1 Corps Tentera Darat Malaysia. Awarded PAT "Panglima Angkatan Tentera" from the Malaysian Armed Forces. Very good years under Lieutenant General Dato Sri David Daud. Head of writing team for the 1987 and 1988 Malaysian Armed Forces Joint Exercises Setiakawan. Went to Honolulu, Hawaii for a 2 weeks in the Foreign Officers Orientation Course with Colonel (Air) Gopa. Visited military establishments, Pearl harbour Sea Graves, flown in a fighter aircraft....shopping at Sears 90-91. Colonel Training Department of the Army, Ministry of Defence. Under Gen Shukor. 92-93. Deputy Commander 3 Malaysian Infantry Brigade Kuching. With Gen Haniff. 93. Commandant School of Senior Management Port Dickson. Set up the School and conducted the first course under instructions from Gen Tan Sri Borhan. Rented a fantastic English cottage with leaded window seals by the sea from Mr Young and Helen. Built my own garages and fencing to protect CG from the dozen plus odd dogs of the landlord! Retired Dec 23 1993. |
