PADI Open Water Diver Course
What to do to get your diving certication card?
1. Knowledge Development
a. Manual and Video. Watch the Video and read the Course Manual in your own time. Answer the embedded quick quizzes and the 5 knowledge reviews. Can be done in one morning or broken up to multiple sessions depending on you.
b. Discussion and Tests. Your instructor will discuss your knowledge reviews and reinforce necessary information so that you can answer the 4 quizzes correctly, and pass the Exam - 50 questions multiple choice.

2. Pool / Shallow Water Skills
a. You will practice skills such as clearing your mask, removing and replacing your scuba gear underwater, breathing from your buddy's spare regulator in shallow water. It can be done in a pool or in the sea. There will be a minimum of 3 by 2 hour + sessions, or until you can perform the skills comfortably. You wll also show you can swim or if needed, you will be taught how to snorkel for long distances. If necessary, you wll be also be taught how to stay comfortably in water too deep to stand up in for at least 10 minutes
3. Dive Trip
a. Dives. You will complete a minimum of 4 open water dives in the sea from 5 to 18 meters deep. Time permitting, there will be a 5th adventure dive.
b. Length of Trip. If you have completed the pool skills in Kuala Lumpur, you need to stay for 2D/1N at least. We recommend a 3D/2N stay. If you wish to do the pool skills in the trip location, a minimum of 3D/2N is required. We recommend a 4D/3N stay.

4. Certification
a. After meeting all requirements by PADI, you will be awarded a diving card to allow you to dive with a buddy in similar conditions to where you trained, or dive in more adventurous dive sites with a PADI professional like a divemaster. There will be a party to celebrate your entry to a whole new world of recreation.
Costs, Selection / Choice
a. 3D/2N or 4D/3N Tioman. Assuming you have completed the pools skills already, we stay at a selected beach - Salang, ABC or Tekek. As Tioman is unique in that accommodation and food are easy and cheap, you pay your own ferry transfers, room and board (cheapest among all the beaches in Malaysia). The costs for certification including KL / City pool skills is RM 950 per diver. Accompanying friends pay their own costs of food (RM 15-20 a day), rooms (RM 25 - 50 per head per day twin share) and ferry transfers(RM 35 one way).
b. Redangkalong 3D/2N. All inclusive ex Marang. RM 1500 per head twin share.
c. Redangkalong 4D/3N. As above. RM 1600 per diver
