Knowledge Development.
Like all PADI courses, independent study by the Rescue Student diver is highly recommended. PADI manuals are designed for that. Read the chapters slowly and complete the corresponding questions in the knowledge review at the end of each chapter. Your instructor will discuss your knowledge reviews, fill in knowledge gaps, highlight important information as well as confirm understanding before you take the 50 questions written exam. Rescue Exercises. After a review of self rescue skills learned in previous courses, you will participate in 10 exercises covering practice in the dealing with : 1. Tired divers, 2. Panicked divers, 3. Distressed divers underwater, and how to : 4. Respond from the shore or boat to divers in distress, 5. Search for a missing diver 5. Bringing up an unresponsive diver from underwater to the surface. 6. Give rescue breaths and exit a victim to a boat or shore. 7. Perform primary assessment including CPR and delivering oxygen to the victim Rescue Scenarios. You will participate in 2 rescue scenarios in how to deal with a lost diver - covering the immediate action required on being informed of a lost diver, interrogating the dive buddy, making your search plan, briefing the search teams, finding the victim and taking the correct basic life support action such as primary assessment and CPR, informing the authorities, keeping a diary of events and if successful sending the recovered victim to a medical facility . Duration of Course. With independent study, most or none rescue exercises first practiced d in a pool, 3 days 2 nights at a dive location. Costs. RM 950 including materials and equipment. |
